Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery enhances the beauty of your eyes by giving
you a well rested and rejuvenated appearance. Excess skin
above the eyes and bags under the eyes can be reduced or
eliminated.
Procedure:
By removing fat, along with excess skin from the upper
and/or lower eyelids, and by tightening the remaining muscles,
a brighter, fresher look can be achieved. This procedure
is usually done on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia
and sedation.
Recovery:
Pain is usually minimal following the procedure. Patients
should use cold compresses to reduce swelling. Sutures are
removed within one week and most people are back to work
in about seven days.
Results:
Results will be brighter, "bag-less" eyes.
FAQs:
Will I have scars? Scars will be nearly
invisible because the incisions will follow the natural
lines of the eyes. Every precaution will be taken to make
certain that scarring is minimal. Sometimes incisions can
be made on the inside of the eyelid leaving no visible scar.
How long will the procedure take? The
procedure usually takes between one and two hours.
Will it make my eyes look different? Your
eyes will look fresher and more rested, but their shape
will remain unchanged, unless you specifically wish to change
their shape intentionally.
