Collagen and dermalogen injection

Collagen or dermalogen treatments can decrease the appearance of wrinkles or scars by adding volume. They are also used to make the lips appear fuller.

Procedure:

You start your treatment with a collagen skin test to make sure that you have no allergic reaction to this protein-based substance. The vast majority of people have no adverse reaction. If you happen to have an allergy, alternative treatments are available and can be discussed.

From there, the collagen or dermalogen is injected into the area with a very small needle. Recovery time is fast. Slight redness or puffiness around the treated area may be apparent but usually subsides by the next day.

Results:

Results are immediate! The effects should last around three to six months. Additional treatments will be needed after that.

Frequently asked questions:

What is collagen? Collagen is a protein-based substance found naturally in the skin. However, the collagen used for most treatments is derived from bovine protein. It is naturally digested by the body, which is why the treatment must be repeated to prolong the results.

Where is collagen effective? Collagen treatments are often used to fill in lines around the mouth and eyes. It is also used to make scars less visible. Some patients prefer to "plump up" their lips with collagen.
