Laser Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing removes the top layer of weathered, aging
skin, and tightens the deeper layers, revealing a smoother
and more youthful complexion.
Procedure:
Laser skin resurfacing, sometimes called a "laser
peel," uses a carbon dioxide or erbium laser to remover
areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. The skin
will need several weeks to heal completely and a pink color
will be present for a few weeks to months afterwards. While
the skin remains in this "pink" phase it will
be producing collagen which helps to tighten and restore
the skin.
Result:
Wrinkles are smoothed, discoloration and blotches are removed
or improved, and newer, fresher skin is revealed.
FAQs:
How is laser skin resurfacing different from chemical
peels or dermabrasion? There are some similarities,
but in general the laser technique can smooth out surface
irregularities better than a chemical peel and tightens
the skin better than dermabrasion.
